Myoxanthus (from Greek for "dormouse" and "flower")[1] is a genus of orchids with about 50 species, widely distributed in Central and South America.[2] This genus is a close ally of Pleurothallis.
The genera Chaetocephala Barb.Rodr., Dubois-Reymondia H.Karst., Duboisia H.Karst.,[3] and Reymondia H.Karst. & Kuntze have been included in Myoxanthus.

Etymology: From the Greek myoxos (μυωξος), "a dormouse," and anthos (ανθος), "flower," referring to some obscure character of the flower.

The genus is distributed from southern Mexico throughout Central America to Bolivia and Brazil.
